Indulge in a bit of old-world glamour in Bloomsbury’s need-to-know new bar
Words Marianna Manson
Quirky, edgy hipster bars can be a lot of fun. But sometimes the trials of everyday life calls for a big and unashamed dose of glamour – and a new joint offering rose-tinted gallons of the stuff has just landed in town.
Bringing more than a touch of old-world class into the heart of the city, The Coral Room is a grand space in the historic Bloomsbury Hotel boasting a stunning fused glass and marble topped bar, bespoke Murano glass chandeliers and striking coral interiors. But it’s not just the décor that had us all in a tizz – a seriously sophisticated cocktail menu and the biggest English sparkling wine list in Europe had us desperate for a bit of fizz and fabulousness – and we weren’t disappointed.

But you shouldn’t save the Coral Rooms spirit for the occasional date night, so we asked the mixologist brains behind the bar to show us how to make some of their favourites. Ladies and gentleman, Tuesday nights just got grand.
